βΆ TECHNOLOGY.
β· TECHNOLOGY
βΆ 00 CYBERTECH.
Neo Tokyo is brimming with body modification technology that can be used for entertainment & leisure, everyday assistance and convenience, military purposes, pleasure and even committing crimes. This can range from robotic appendages, spinal cord adapters that can give a person supernatural abilities, ocular devices that use holograms for communication and so forth.
βΆ 01 BASELINE TECH.
Upon arrival, each character will be tampered with after they materialize in the ADMINISTRATION ONLY room. They will be sent to the MEDICAL BAY where they will undergo an operation that will permanently alter them.
First off, their eyes will be modified. This won't change their eye color, but their eyes will light up when in use. Ocular and brain implants are the standard way of communication now and more about it can be read below. Eyes are the window to the soul, so to say, and it's no joke around here. Ocular implants will have a characters identification, but Outsiders who have materialized on behalf of LILITH will be given and ALTERNATE IDENTITY when interacting with civilians outside of the main base and other members of LILITH. What their name and identity is will be up to the player to decide. Feel free to give Sasuke Uchiha the name Joe Dirt for all we care. This section should be filled out in the app and can be anything you want it to be.
Say you go into a mall in Shinjuku.. characters will get bombarded with all sorts of advertisements when they look at them and will call them out by their name, which will be their alternate identity as someone who has existed in this world with current data. Players are free to go wild with who their character's alternate identity is.
Another adjustment will lie in a character's dominant wrist. If they are right handed, it will be in the right wrist. If they are left handed, it will be in the left wrist. This is a microchip that will be responsible for all transactions at local stores. Pick up the item you want, scan your wrist over the scan bar or the face of the friendly clerk robot, and voila. You've just paid for your purchase. More about the CURRENCY can be read below.
... And that's it! We hope you all enjoy being a partial robot.
01 COMMUNICATION.
As mentioned, the main method of communication now is via the ocular implant. It has the option for text, image, video, audio, hologram & dataverse. Anonymous posting is also allowed on the network. How does it work? Glad you asked!
TEXT: Characters will imagine the words they want to type out OR they will say the words as if they were speaking.. a speech to text function.
IMAGE: A holoscreen will appear. Characters can take a picture of anything they see by tapping a button behind their ear. This will save the image into their ocular database and be accessible from the hologram screen. Simply drag and drop.
There's no selfie mode option, but there's something even better than that (see: hologram)
VIDEO: Similar to the photo capture, holding the button behind the ear will capture footage and save into the database. Drag and drop again.
AUDIO: Like the texting feature, you can simply speak once two (or more) characters are connected. It's like talking on your Airpods without the Airpods.
HOLOGRAM: Characters may do a hologram chat for one or more people. Selecting HOLOGRAM CHAT will introduce the a hologram of the character to others. They will be actual size, color, and everything else. The person casting the hologram will be able to be present in the same space the other character is on the receiving end. If all parties would like to all hologram together, well...
DATAVERSE: You can do a Metaverse of sorts that is much better than Zuck's Universe. Trust us. One character can LAUNCH DATAVERSE to send an invitation to others on their holoscreen. Upon acceptance, characters can all congregate in a memory or imagined place where all can congregate. It will smell, look, and feel all very realistic. All actions played out will be seen in the Dataverse, recording a character's actions, feelings, words, and anything else.
02 CLOAKING DEVICE.
Outsiders who are inhuman in any capacity will be required to have a cloaking device when interacting outside of LILITH's bases. This gives characters who have any appendages that are inhuman a chance to blend in. Characters who are human but still would like a cloaking device can purchase one via the Rewards as explained below, but for now...
My character has a minor difference from a human: Say they have cat ears but are otherwise human, the device will hide their ears.
My character is human, but can transform into a creature: The cloaking device will keep their human appearance, but things such as abilities and stronger strength will remain that if their creature form.
My character isn't human at all: If this is the case, players can pick an avatar of choice for their character to cloak as.
With all options, characters may turn off their cloaking device on bases and during missions.
Cloaking devices are automatically activated when characters step out of LILITH's bases and manually accessed via a button on their opposite ear from their communication device.
03 CLOTHING.
The style in this year is absolutely popping. Do you have a favorite jacket? Want it in another color for the holidays? A simple beep-boop on your holoscreen via the ocular implant and your clothing will change color! Want it to glow in the dark? Constantly change colors? All of that can be modified on the holoscreen. How does it work? Simple enough: the clothing connects to your body when you put it on, similar to a Bluetooth device.
Want blue eyeshadow in the afternoon and then black in the evening? Anything on your body can be modified besides organic parts of you.
Other clothing items can have different abilities, such as rocket boots, thermal jackets that can keep you hot or cold, etc, etc..
All of these leisure clothing can be purchased via the Rewards system.
On base, characters will be provided some clothing, such as:
A plug suit with their team's color in the center orb.
Lounge clothing / pajamas to wear along the base. This is a simple, comfy pair of shirt and pants of their team color.
One outfit of player's choice that consists of sneakers/heels, pants/skirt, top, and basic accessories. This outfit will have the modification capabilities of that which can be purchased.
Everyone has to wear these sexy plugsuits?
Yep. Everybody while on a mission. Wearing the plugsuit is optional around the base; most people will opt for the comfy lounge clothes instead. The plugsuit should not be worn out when interacting with civilians and consequences from LILITH will arise should anyone attempt to do that.
The plugsuit is highly advanced, tear resistant, fire resistant, bullet proof, water (and other unearthly fluids) resistant. Plug suits will constantly be getting upgrades throughout the mission to assist fighting against specific monsters, to be sure to drop your plug suit off for adjustments should LILITH ask you to do so.
04 TRANSPORTATION.
What's the transportation like here?
In Japan, the train system is still in operation and thriving, all manned by... absolutely no conductors! It's all programmed into the trains. Even the standard lines are faster and sleeker than that of hundreds of years ago. Other public transportation exists such as buses, and private transportation such as cars are also around. Most of these can autopilot themselves and there is also a skyway for vehicles that can fly.
If you're lucky, however, you can teleport to another location instantly through a dataportal. Only the highest of class locations have these dataportals.. unless you're an organization like LILITH.
Tell me more about the dataportal.
Walk through one end of the portal, end up somewhere else! Easy as pie... though characters may get nauseous as they step through their first or second portal, they will get used to it in time.
Dataportals are the preferred method for LILITH transporting it's recruits, but there may be times were traveling by other means will be the only way to get to the destination.
What about good, old fashioned cars and motorcycles?
Characters are more than welcome to purchase vehicles with the currency they have gotten via their civilian job / monster missions. ICly, this will be characters popping into a shop and purchasing a vehicle. OOCly, this will also be something to submit via the Rewards system.
05 CURRENCY.
The currency in this world is one, singular currency called KRYPTOS. It completely exists digitally. There are no need for bills and pennies now.. those are things of the past!
How do characters make sweet kryptos?
LILITH will handsomely (well, sort of handsomely) reward each character with funds upon a successful mission. Characters are also welcome to get part time jobs outside of working for LILITH if they so desire. Kryptos are uploaded into character's microchip each pay period.
How do characters use their kryptos?
Scanning their microchip on their wrist will pay for a purchase but characters can also purchase things via PayPal on their holoscreen. Amazon.com totally exists here and delivers their packages via drones. Characters can also send money to other characters via the holoscreen as well.
How can the currency be used as leverage here?
LILITH will promise that all funds here will be applicable once they are sent home. Say you made 450,000 kryptos here. Well, once LILITH is done with you, you'll get 450,000 USD, or pounds, or yen.. whatever your characters currency is back home. Their time assisting LILITH might help them get out of financial debt back home!
06 REWARD TECH.
There are a lot of additional techs that can be purchased with Bonus Points. To find out what you can purchase, you can check out the REWARDS page!
Examples of items to purchase will be military grade cybertech that will permanently alter and enhance your character. OOCly, this will be players turning in their Reward points. ICly, this will be LILITH noticing outstanding achievements from characters and
There was ways of making your character comply if they ICly would resist. Don't worry. ;)
Other examples of Rewards will consist of vehicles, cybertech clothing and accessories, other gadgets and gizmos.
TECHNOLOGY SUGGESTIONS
CYBERTECH NAME: The name of the tech.
FUNCTION: Thoroughly explain what it does.
COST: How much will it cost? If you don't know or don't care, we'll price it for you.
LOCATION: What country and/or store can it be bought at?
IMAGE: Provide an image that gives an accurate or close enough example of what you're thinking.

FUNCTION: A pair of sleek black gloves that lets you store weapons in them through warp/dataportal technology. To make this less OP, I think they should be used to store a person's weapon ONLY and not for anything else.
COST: 150 should be fine? Feel free to adjust if needed.
LOCATION: Probably Neo-Tokyo?
IMAGE: this, basically. i think a mini hammerspace for weapons would be ideal for people who have more than one weapon to lug around for convenience. thank you for your consideration!

TECHNOLOGY SUGGESTIONS
FUNCTION: A black silicone ring, that, when worn, can nerf the user's abilities. Perhaps you wish to give yourself an extra challenge while training, or you wish to experience the effects of drugs/alcohol when you ordinarily cannot. The nerf ring has you covered!
COST: 75 should be fine? Feel free to adjust!
LOCATION: Neo-Tokyo
IMAGE: This!

FUNCTION: An enhanced gland implanted in the lower abdomen, connected to both suprarenal glands. Dormant it simply serves as a reservoir for adrenaline. When activated a small sac of muscle contracts, sending concentrated adrenaline into the blood stream. While active the user does not feel most wounds and can even stay up from injuries that would render them unconscious. Boosts to strength, speed, and reaction times are likewise experienced. However once activated the effects cannot be switched off, the user has to ride it out until it wears off. Lasts a full minute, once it wears off the user crashes. Any injuries they have catch up to them and they risk falling unconscious on the spot.
COST: 200? Maybe more? Maybe less? Up to y'all really.
LOCATION: Neo Tokyo
IMAGE: Something super gross looking probably.
CYBERTECH NAME: Wired Reflexes
FUNCTION: In a highly invasive procedure neural boosters and adrenaline stimulators are placed throughout the body. Visibly the user appears to have glowing neon wires running under their skin like a second set of veins, the color can be changed by the user. When activated the system greatly boosts the user's movement speed and reflexes, allowing them to function at twice their normal speed. The effect lasts for one minute and requires a cool down period of at least a day to activate again.
COST: 300? again totally up to mod discretion!
LOCATION: Neo Tokyo
IMAGE: Like this, all across the body.
CYBERTECH NAME: Crash Course Academia
FUNCTION: Several years of schooling in a handy downloadable format! Over the period of a day an entire curriculum's worth of knowledge is downloaded into your brain, complete with standardized testing. Upon completion with passing scores Congratulations! You are now a fully accredited graduate! Courses range from Associates to Doctorate levels, with MDs also available*. Select trades are also on offer, have you ever wanted to learn gunsmithing, blacksmithing, carpentry, or any other rewarding practice with your hands but just don't have the time? Download it now and put those skills to use in an exciting new career!
*Please note: while you can earn your MD you will still have to complete your residency, there is no substitute for experience with patients!
All courses are none transferable, patented copyright protection will wipe the data from the storage device after class completion has been confirmed.
COST: Prices range based on level of schooling but up to mod discretion once again!
LOCATION: Neo Tokyo | Available at most Universities.
IMAGE: A handily portable Stick Drive.
APPROVED + NOTE
Crash Course Academia we are limiting to 2 year Associates programs and Vocational/Trade degrees along with useful skills (such as how to knit a scarf, other DIY projects.) This is to limit playable characters from suddenly becoming geniuses without proper character growth in-game which can sometimes cause an inorganic change in character personality. ICly, this could be explained by dystopia educational industry trying to profit off of consumers and not make this readily accessible, especially at an affordable cost.
This Reward will have a tier cost depending on what the character wants to learn.
DIY Projects / Life Hacks / Basic Skills: 100 points.
Vocational/Trade Degrees: 300 Points.
2 Year Associates Program: 500 Points.
We will add these to the REWARDS page when we have a chance. Thank you for the ideas!
Re: TECHNOLOGY SUGGESTIONS
FUNCTION: An unassuming whip 16 feet (4.8 meters) in length, ending in a weighted tip. The thong is constructed from an adaptive nanometal capable of high frequency vibrations, allowing the whip to slice through armor, flesh, and bone. The High Frequency mode is easily identified by the length of the whip taking on a red glow.
When linked to a user's neural and optical implant the whip's full utility becomes accessible. The HF intensity can be lowered and even turned off to function as a less than lethal weapon. or utility tool. A combination of mental command and visual input allows the whip to identify targets properly, responding as to tangle up a target, disarm an assailant of their weapon, or coil around an object to pull and or use as a swinging point.
Finer usage requires an a learning period, errant thoughts while holding the whip can often have it act seemingly on its own.
